Tuesday Talk: About Katie

First, thank you for all the prayers and kind words from our last post about our grandma. We had a beautiful ceremony celebrating her life this past weekend...she will be greatly missed, but we are comforted knowing she is at peace in the loving arms of Christ. Again, thank you...we appreciate it! :)

We've had a lot of new faces around here, so I thought I'd introduce myself this week! And, if you're new here, introduce yourself in the comments and share your blog! :)

As for me, I'm Katie...and here's some random facts about me:

1. I love to read. I like mysteries, fantasy/thriller series (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc), religious books ... pretty much anything other than what I had to read for school. ;)  I haven't found a great book in awhile, so if you have any suggestions, please share! Here is my reading list for this year.

2. I broke my arm when I was ten...roller skating gone wrong! ;)

3. I've lived in Indiana my whole life and love it! Remind me of that this winter...winters are rough!

4. I LOVE football. I count down the days until kickoff in August.

5. Pigs are my favorite animal. They are the cutest!

6. I wrote a Bucket List in middle school and am working hard to finish it!

7. I love to travel...my favorite place to go would be Disney World. Second place, Gatlinburg ... already planning our next trip there!

8. Backstreet Boys fan for life ;)

9. I'm slowly cutting back on caffeine. I know it will be good in the long run, but right now I hate myself. ;) Dr. Pepper, I miss you!

10. I love theatre and was in several plays in high school. I designed/painted the sets for the musicals because I can't sing so I didn't even audition. :)

Well, fairly random, but if you want to know more, you can find it here!

Happy Tuesday!

P.S.  For all of you babywearing moms, please come back this Thursday for a Cute Awaking Water Sling Giveaway!

Make sure you check out these Tuesday Talk co-hosts this week:

  1. A bucket list in middle school - I'm impressed. I didn't even know what I wanted to do the next day. Good to know some fun facts about you!

  2. BSB fan for life over here too! I saw them in concert a couple years ago haha. I was supposed to see them when I was 12...but one of them went into rehab so they cancelled it.

  3. I love that you are a BSB fan! Have you seen the documentary on Netflix? It's so good- it's about their reunion and making their newest album. You should check it out!

  4. I'm from Chicago! It's always fun to find other fellow midwesteners in the blog world. Thanks for hosting the link up! I love BSB too, been to a show years ago at Ravinia it was awesome. :)

  5. Hi Katie! Great to find out new things about people. I loved Harry Potter too, I would stay up all night reading the books.

  6. I once went to Gatlinburg, but I was pretty young and didn't really explore since I went with family for a cousin's dance recital lol

Also, I periodically review books for a few companies/organizations and lately have read some pretty good ones. Check out my book reviews here: http://lifebreathpresent.com/category/book-product-reviews/

I'm glad your family had a nice gathering to celebrate your grandmother's life and you all are feeling comforted, despite your loss.

  7. I broke my arm roller skating as a child too! I think that is why I have never liked skating of any kind. LOL Gatlinburg is so much fun. We are meeting my family there this month and renting a cabin for the first time. Should be fun! Good luck on cutting back on caffeine. I should probably do the same thing. :)

  8. So fun getting to know you some more! Oh i loved Backstreet Boys! Haha!

  9. So many fun facts to get to know you better! :) Thanks for linking up!

  10. I knew in 7th grade what college/degree I wanted...and that's what I ended up doing (proud dental hygienist!) :) Probably not the norm, but I guess I knew what I wanted ;)

  11. Oh, AJ and his rehab ;) I really want to go see them sometime!!

  12. Thanks for the info! My husband will be thrilled ;) haha

  13. Hello, midwest friend! :) Love Chicago, we have family in Lisle, so we are over that way often!

  14. My siblings and I read the last two book out loud in 2 days...it was intense! Those books are so good!!

  15. Thanks so much Erin! :) Hope you make it to Gatlinburg...you guys always have fun trips! Is it weird one of my other favorite places is Cincinnati? haha So many fun things to do as a family there :)

  16. Thanks for sharing the books reviews! I'll check them out! :)

  17. I always hated skating too...broke mine 2 days before Christmas. Not easy opening gifts with a plaster cast on your dominant hand...cramped my style ;) lol
Have fun in Gatlinburg!! We absolutely loved it! Definitely get yourself some donuts from Donut Friar...amazing! :)

  18. BSB forever! Jess liked NSYNC...it was rough sharing a room ;) Nightmares of Justin's ramen noodle hair ;) lol

  19. Thanks Erin! :) You now know the most random facts about me :)
