Craving: Time to read. Family time together. To work on some crafting projects. One on one time with the kids. To build up my spiritual life...
So maybe what I'm getting at here is that I'm craving more time in my day?! Or maybe a better schedule for myself? Sigh, L is three months old, and I'm still trying to figure out life with 3 kids. It's fun, tiring, awesome, crazy, and challenging (in a good way!)!
Listening: I love listening to the Rosary on the (free!) Relevant Radio app. Recently, a friend mentioned how great it was, so I downloaded it right away. She was right! They have 2 versions - one that is 16 minutes and one that is 28. No more excuses as to why I can't say it when it only takes 16 minutes!
Grilling: Looks like B is grilling just about everything...including the condiments! Other than when we're playing pretend, we've just been enjoying good ol' hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks this summer. It sure hits the spot!
Planning: Two celebrations! This month, we have J's 4th birthday and L's baptism:
We're so happy that we can finally have L baptized now that the adoption has been finalized. Welcome to the Catholic Faith, L!
In our family, we celebrate birthdays just with our little family, but I do love to decorate and make it really special! (Here's what I did for J and for B last year :) This year's theme: Sleeping Beauty (probably!)
Decorating: I am so slow at doing this. We've lived in our house for 3 years now and not a single room is finished. (They are mostly finished though!) I'm
But every time there's going to be a family gathering at our house (L's baptism party!), I kick it in to gear and get a little more done. So I'll be working on decorating a little bit more in every room...

I've been working on some summer home decor with hydrangeas that I got on clearance after Easter! |
So what have you all been up to so far this summer? What have you been craving, listening to, grilling, planning, and decorating? I love getting to see what everyone has been up to lately in the Currently link ups with Anne, Jenna, and Becky!
Hope you have a great 4th of July weekend!
What fun pictures, Jess. I'm definitely slow at decorating too . . . unless tacking up the kids' art work counts!
ReplyDeleteHAHA Love that little grill. What a sweet picture. And I'm so glad you wrote what you did about decorating - I am the same way. We have almost zero pictures on the wall because I just can't decide what to do.... but party planning is always a fun booster!!
ReplyDeleteI love that picture of B and his grill- so cute! :) Also, I'm right there with you on decorating. I'm cheap and haven't updated a lot of things but I'm slowwwly getting there ;)
ReplyDeleteI haven't stopped by often enough, but I have grown to love your blog. I will be catching up over the next week for sure. I found myself laughing so hard when I read of all that B was grilling. Too cute! if I hadn't said it before, you have such a beautiful family! Found you (again) over on While I'm Waiting and visiting from Sunshine and Elephants. ~Lowanda
ReplyDeleteThose grilling pictures are precious!! I love that he's grilling up a little bit of everything. I think it's good to go slow with your home decor. That way you'll end up with stuff you love and not just rush out and buy a bunch of things you'll regret. It'll all come together just fine. Summer seems to be flying by. We are busy packing and so excited to be moving to Indiana. I can't wait to settle into our new life there :)
ReplyDeleteWe have lived in our house for 12 years....I'm still not done! It seems never ending and just when I think it is almost completed it's time for something else. Have a super 4th!
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya I need more time in the day too!!! Enjoy your weekend and some extra time :)
ReplyDeleteSo much to celebrate this month!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
Your kiddos are so cute! And those hydrangeas look beautiful. I have some of those in my house too and they brighten up rooms so well! Hope y'all have a great weekend! Visiting from 5 on Friday :)
ReplyDeleteB at his little grill is adorable! We're the same way with decorating, if no ones going to see my house, I tend to care less. I'm sure I should be making my house nice for ME, so its a place of calm or something but lets get real!
