Monthly Resolution: Happiness Stamped

 http://www.sweetlittleonesblog.com/p/start-fresh-series.html

So for the next year, I'm going to be trying out something new with our Start Fresh monthly resolutions :)

I came across Emily's 12 Months of Bliss Challenge through Michelle at Grammie Time, and I really liked the sound of it.  A challenge that encourages loving yourself and others through acts of kindness and gratitude?  Count me in!

EG's Twelve Months of Bliss

June 2015:  Happiness Stamped

Challenge:  To write and mail an encouraging letter, note, or card to someone once a week by snail mail.  So spread a little joy through a simple act of kindness...because everyone loves receiving mail!

Journal:  Keep track of what I wrote and to whom.  And then reflect on Emily's questions:  "At the end of the month look back over the key words of encouragement...are these words you need to be speaking to people more often?  Are these words you might like to hear from someone about yourself?"

Community:  I'll be sharing my thoughts and reflections with others completing the challenge all month long through #12MofBliss and then on the last Wednesday of the month on Emily's blog Ember Grey.  You should join in!

The cute cards I got from the Target Dollar Spot!

I'm really excited about this!  There's something about receiving a card in the mail.  You can just feel the time, love, and thought behind it.  So why not give that joy to someone else?!

Why don't you join in?  Let's grow in love and kindness together.

  3. Love this! I actually did this for Lent this year. I wanted to send one letter a day for Lent, but it didn't quite work out to be that. But seriously everyone I did write texted me or wrote an email (one person did snail mail me back) and said that the letter just made their whole day, that they were feeling a little gloomy and that it just made their whole week getting a sweet letter from me. Mostly I wrote to them about how much they mean to me and why our relationship is special and what I cherish about it. Just giving them nice words of compliments and encouragement goes a long way.

  9. I love the idea of sending one letter or card each week! It's a small enough goal that it's doable without being overwhelming. Great idea to get cute cards. I think finding cute cards that I'm excited to use will encourage me to do it. I hope to do this this month!

  12. Oh how I love snail mail! I just mailed off Olive's birthday thank you notes and it always makes me smile to fill my mailbox with handwritten cards. I love getting notes from family & friends so it's a good reminder for me to mail snail mail regularly. Everyone likes a little surprise note in their mailbox :)

  13. I love this idea. I am not sure if I will do it once a week as I am in touch with so many people through the internet...but I will be doing it once a month.

I'm glad to hear someone else is doing this. I have a huge stack of cards, and try to send out several each week just to encourage others. You're so right--there is just something so special about receiving that handwritten card! Keep it up!
