The Almost Christmas Birthday + Airplane Birthday Banner

Happy Birthday, Buster!

Bi-Plane / Airplane Birthday Banner - www.sweetlittleonesblog.com

Our son's birthday is the day after Christmas, so we always get to celebrate big two days in a row at our house.

And every year, we make fun birthday banners of the kids' favorite things to celebrate their big day.  I love seeing how excited they get when they see a special banner made just for them!  And here's our son's for this year:

Amazing, right?!  Well, I have a confession to make.  I didn't make this awesome airplane banner.  My husband did!

We got very behind on getting ready for Christmas and his birthday because of a hectic month of good and bad news in the family.  So while I was wrapping gifts a few days before Christmas, I told Jim how overwhelmed I was with how much there was still left to do.  So he just started making the airplane banner for me!  (I have a keeper!)

God bless his heart, being an engineer, he measured everything with a ruler and even asked me for a protractor.  But in the end, he got it done, and it looks great!  (And he didn't even use Pinterest ;)

And now that I know he can do this, he's making the kids' birthday banners every year. ;)

What are your family's special birthday traditions?

  2. Happy Birthday!! We have yet to start any birthday traditions. Having two girls with summer birthdays, it's hard enough getting the family together for a party. I love the banner idea!

    1. We only do parties for first birthdays now. Our families are way too big to have parties...we'd have one every weekend! So that's why we make the banners and everything extra special since it's just a day with the four of us! -Jess
