4th of July Weekend Recap

What a fun extra long holiday weekend!

For breakfast, I made our favorite "breakfast cake" and decorated it for the Fourth.  It was all-American delicious.  Mmmmm...

It was J's first time to see the fireworks, and she absolutely loved them.  She kept jumping up and down yelling, "I want another one!"  Really, it was a whole night of fun firsts for her: we also caught lightning bugs and did sparklers too.  She thought the glowing bugs were "ticklish" on her hand, and with the sparklers, she just kept wanting to make letters and shapes in the air with them.

On Friday and Saturday, my brother and Jim's brother came over and helped Jim finish up the swing set.  It was a lot of work (you know, from my point of view inside in the AC...), but I think they had fun with the power tools. ;)

When the kids saw the swing set for the first time, J ran to it and was so excited!  B waddled as fast as he could and wanted to get swinging too!  It just makes my heart burst to be able to give our kids these fun things that we had growing up.

Sunday, our nephew Tim got baptized!  Welcome to the Church, Tim!  We love you!  (Aaaahhh, I didn't take any pictures because my Dad is always like the paparazzi at these things!)  So we got to see all of my family at his little party afterwards.  What a fun and awesome weekend. :)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating with your families too!
